Delhi United Football Club (DUFC), management board today launched its Strategic Goals and Vision in a function held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The Vision and Strategic Goals have been finalised following an in-depth-discussion within the board after analysing different aspects of football in India and considering Delhi as a future potential market for football in India. Though the league structure in India is still evolving irrespective of the current situation we as a club firmly believe that eventually, India will adopt a global structure by which every club in India can become a part of a league structure and dream to play in the Premier League of India.

DUFC VISION:

To be the CHAMPION club of Asia by 2030

STRATEGIC GOALS: 

  • DUFC to start a village football project by July 2017 to connect with Village population and empower village community through football
  • DUFC to enter into a strategic partnership with one of the best European Clubs by January 2018
  • DUFC to establish an Elite football academy for the age group of Under 16 by August 2018
  • DUFC to launch women’s football team and establish girls’ grassroots centre by August 2018
  • DUFC to engage 25000 youth in various DUFC training programme by the end of 2019
  • To make the club financially sustainable by March 2020 – one of the priority goals
  • DUFC to develop its own training facility by the end of 2020
  • DUFC plans to engage 500000 fans by the end of 2021

Delhi United Football Club is proud to announce the adoption of Ghamroj Village in Haryana since July 2017 to engage the village community into football. The youth of the village are being trained by DUFC. Very soon the club will start the construction of a natural football pitch and changing room to improve the basic football playing facility in the village.

DUFC is fortunate to secure the services of Mr Harjinder Singh, the Ex-India Captain and the Ex-Coach of the Chandigarh Football Academy who produced 36 youth players for India in last one decade including the captain Amarjit Singh and 3 other players of the current India U17 team.

Delhi United FC is glad to announce the appointment of Dr Gautam Pal as a DUFC Grassroots Ambassador, considering his work in the social sector and the effort he is putting into promoting football in his own way.

Delhi United appointed Mr Jeyadev Parthasarathy, the alumni of XLRI Jamshedpur and a successful business professional with over 20 years of varied experience as an entrepreneur, different startup ventures and active in executive search industry as an Advisor to the DUFC Board. His expertise in the area of marketing, business development, sponsorship, and strategy would be of great value to the club. It is the second time he is associating with a professional club when ShillongLajong turned professional Jeyadev was the club’s Marketing and Strategic Advisor.

Jeyadev commented on his appointment as below.

Quote “I always wanted to be a part of the Delhi club and Delhi United is the best club to associate with it since I believe in the philosophy and vision of the club management and I would put my business experience to support the club in achieving its goals.”

The Chairman of the DUFC board Mr Krishn Anand is elated to be part of the Delhi United and he clearly specifies how we want to create opportunities for youth to be part of football. Quote, “I decided to invest in a football club with an objective to create better opportunities for youth. I see that youth in India is increasingly becoming passionate about football and through Delhi United we can do our bit to develop football by focusing on youth. Though we are still not sure about the league structure, however, we are determined to work hard in the sector of youth development and connect with the community through our innovative strategies and plan. Football in India is at an interesting crossroads and we all stakeholders have to come together to meet the aspirations of our youngsters and work hard to present a better platform for football in India.”

Delhi United FC wishes the India U17 National Team all the best for its debut participation in the FIFA U17 World Cup 2017 starting from 6th October 2017. DUFC also wishes FIFA and AIFF all the very best with the organisation of the U17 World Cup in India.

Delhi United FC qualified for the DSA Delhi Super League 2017-18 season after securing second place in the overall Senior Division League 2017 table. DUFC had a bad start, after two consecutive defeats against Indian Air Force and Garwal Heroes in the first two matches DUFC registered six consecutive victories to qualify for the DSA Super League. The top eight teams qualified for the super league which will start from the first week of October 2017.

DUFC today appointed Jeyadev Parthasarathy as an Advisor to the DUFC Board. Jeyadev is an Entrepreneur, Mentor and active in the Executive Search Industry for over 20 years.  The alumni of XLRI Jamshedpur is a diehard football fan who in his younger days played in the Delhi League for 5 years. His passion for football and high interest to contribute to the growth of Delhi football resulted in him to associate with Delhi United.

The management graduate was earlier linked with Shillong Lajong as its Marketing and Strategic Advisor when the Meghalaya club turned professional. His diverse experience from an advisor to startup ventures to raising equity capital along with his football business background would add tremendous value to the DUFC. The DUFC board is looking forward to working with him.


DUFC has adopted Ghamroj Village in Haryana for its outreach programme and started a football training programme involving village youth. Further, DUFC will develop a football pitch, dressing room, etc. facilities at the village and make this village a model football village in India.


DUFC U19 team secured third place in the Delhi leg of U19 Oorja Talent Hunt Championship 2017


Harjinder Singh, ex-captain India football team joined DUFC in June 2017 as its Chief Technical Officer.
Thirty-six youth players coached by him have represented the Indian national youth team in last ten years, and six of his trainees are playing in the current India U17 team which will play in the FIFA U17 World Cup 2017 starting on 6th October in India.


DUFC plan to launch its residential football academy for Under 16 age group from October 2017 in Gurgaon. A nation wide selection trials will be organised to select the best 20-24 players in the month of September 2017.


DUFC offers free football coaching to the students of Govt School in the premise of Govt School, Sector 22, Dwarka since July 2017.
